Health Guarantee
Coverage and Purpose
Licia Kitties Home is committed to raising healthy, well socialized kittens and placing them in safe, responsible homes. This Health Guarantee explains what we guarantee, what is expected from the new owner, and the steps to follow if a health concern appears after pickup or delivery. The goal is fairness and clarity for both sides, while protecting the kitten’s wellbeing during the transition into a new environment.
Veterinary Examination Requirement
A wellness examination by a licensed veterinarian is required within seventy two hours of pickup or delivery. This exam should include a full physical assessment, including heart and lung evaluation, eyes, ears, mouth, skin and coat, joints, hydration status, and an overall health review. Keep all records from this first visit, including the veterinarian’s written findings and any lab results if tests are performed. Failure to complete the exam within the required time may void this guarantee.
Contagious Illness and Immediate Care
Kittens can experience stress related changes after moving to a new home. Stress may temporarily affect appetite, stool consistency, and energy level. Even so, any signs of illness should be taken seriously. Contact your veterinarian and Licia Kitties Home promptly if your kitten shows vomiting, repeated diarrhea, blood in stool, severe lethargy, labored breathing, fever, refusal to eat, or discharge from eyes or nose. This guarantee does not replace veterinary care. Your kitten’s health should always come first, and treatment should never be delayed while waiting for a response.
Genetic and Congenital Conditions
This guarantee covers life altering genetic or congenital conditions that significantly impact quality of life and are diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian. A second opinion from a veterinarian chosen by Licia Kitties Home may be requested, and medical documentation will be required. Conditions caused by injury, neglect, improper diet, toxins, accidents, or environmental exposure are not covered. Because some conditions can appear later, coverage for genetic and congenital issues extends for twelve months from the date the kitten goes home, unless a different period is stated in your written sales agreement.
Parasites, Common Kitten Conditions, and Owner Responsibilities
Many kittens are exposed to parasites in normal environments, including during routine life events such as travel, grooming, or contact with new surfaces. This guarantee does not cover routine treatable conditions such as fleas, ear mites, coccidia, giardia, upper respiratory infections, minor skin irritation, stress diarrhea, or ringworm exposure, since these can occur after leaving our care and are generally manageable with standard veterinary treatment. Ongoing preventative care is the responsibility of the owner, including vaccines, parasite prevention, proper nutrition, safe housing, and a low stress introduction to other pets.
Vaccines and Ongoing Preventative Care
Your kitten will go home with age appropriate care information. Vaccine schedules vary based on your veterinarian’s protocol and your kitten’s lifestyle. The new owner is responsible for continuing vaccinations and boosters on time, as recommended by a licensed veterinarian. Delayed vaccinations, missed boosters, or failure to provide routine care may void coverage. The kitten must be kept indoors only, unless otherwise agreed in writing, because outdoor access increases exposure to infectious disease, parasites, toxins, and injury.
Exclusions and Situations Not Covered
This Health Guarantee does not cover:
Injuries, accidents, falls, rough handling, or trauma
Illness caused by unsafe conditions, toxins, smoke exposure, or poor sanitation
Problems caused by diet changes, overfeeding, underfeeding, or inappropriate foods
Stress related issues from frequent home changes or improper introductions
Illness contracted after the kitten leaves our care
Non life threatening conditions that do not significantly affect quality of life
Optional procedures, including declawing
Breeding related outcomes if the kitten is sold as a pet only
Declawing is strongly discouraged due to long term pain and behavioral risks. If declawing is performed, this guarantee is void.
What We Provide Before Going Home
Licia Kitties Home provides each kitten with basic documentation and guidance for the transition home. Depending on the kitten and placement, this may include:
A record of vaccinations and deworming to date
Feeding information and current diet guidance
General care instructions for the first days at home
Any known health observations disclosed before placement
If a Serious Health Issue Is Found
If your veterinarian diagnoses a serious condition covered under this guarantee, notify Licia Kitties Home within twenty four hours of the diagnosis. Provide the following:
Veterinarian’s name, clinic name, and contact information
A written diagnosis and treatment plan
Copies of test results, imaging, or lab work if performed
Your kitten’s current symptoms and timeline
Licia Kitties Home may request a second opinion or additional diagnostic confirmation before approving any remedy.
Remedy Options Under This Guarantee
If a covered condition is confirmed, Licia Kitties Home will offer one of the following remedies, as determined by the terms of your purchase agreement:
Replacement kitten of comparable value when available, after return of the kitten
Partial refund toward documented treatment costs up to an agreed limit
Full refund under specific circumstances, typically tied to return of the kitten
Shipping, delivery fees, travel expenses, and veterinary examination fees are not refundable. Emergency treatment decisions should be made with your veterinarian immediately, with notification to us as soon as possible.
Return Conditions and Humane Care
Any return, if required under the chosen remedy, must be coordinated in advance. The kitten must be returned in good condition, with veterinary documentation, and with reasonable care provided up to the return date. No kitten should be withheld from needed medical treatment for the purpose of a return. Humane care is required at all times.
Owner Commitments for a Valid Guarantee
To keep this Health Guarantee valid, the owner agrees to:

Limits of Liability
Licia Kitties Home is not responsible for costs beyond the remedies described in this policy.
